Electricity
- Generate dWatt via solar panels and wind turbines, then store it in batteries for later use.
- Use charge controllers, inverters, and smart plugs to monitor consumption and protect hardware.
- Keep a GFCI tester on hand when working around mains power.
- Install a Power Inverter
- Maintain Your Battery Pack
- Check a battery pack's voltage
- Test a GFCI Outlet
- Charge a Device Off-Grid
- Always fuse DC runs close to the battery and keep wire gauges appropriate for the load.
- Verify polarity before powering up new circuits.
Electricity is the backbone of DSPACE's economy and automation loop. Using it efficiently keeps costs low, while generating it cleanly earns you dWatt without dCarbon penalties.
Non-renewable energy (dCarbon impact)
If you pull power from fossil-fuel sources, DSPACE applies a built-in carbon tax. Selling any priced
item is taxed by dCarbon / 1000 percent (continuous, capped at a 90% reduction), and dWatt itself
is not sold. The goal is simple: reward renewable energy and make wasteful usage expensive.
